Google has ended its support for, and the life of the BlackBerry - specific product, Google Sync for BlackBerry. The Sync server went offline at the beginning of November. The announcement for the end of life is here. This only came to our attention because so many BlackBerry users who depend on Google Sync for BlackBerry had the same problem around the same time-- it just stopped working!
BlackBerry users must now find another way to sync their Calendar and contact data wirelessy. BlackBerry BIS now offers instructions for setting up sync with Google, using Blackberry Internet Service. The full instructions are here: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB24204 .
CompanionLink and GoldMine continue to update your Google account without issue, so the problem really lies with reconfiguring the handheld BlackBerry. It is true that once you have had wireless sync in place and operating, you typically do not want to go without it.
